Classical Music for Children

This volume contains 23 easy pieces for trumpet and piano from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods. The short pieces are well suited for trumpet students from the second to third year of instruction. The piano accompaniments are designed in such a way that they can also be performed by pupils and thus promote communal music-making.

The pieces are therefore ideally suited for performances in schools as well as for performances of all kinds. When recording the CD, moderate tempos were deliberately chosen to make it easier for the young musicians to play along on the piano. In addition to some lesser known works, there are many popular pieces, for example themes from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Handel's Fireworks Music, Mozart's Magic Flute, Beethoven's 9th Symphony or Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel.

The aim is to provide a new approach to the classical masterpieces of concert literature and to promote the enjoyment of classical music through such simplified arrangements. In addition to the solo part for trumpet in Bb, a non-transposed version (trumpet in C) is also enclosed to enable young players of trombone choirs to use this as well.
