Royal David's City

This hymn is used to open the Service of Lessons and Carols, heard annually in the chapel of Cambridge College each Christmas Eve. That event is what Joel Raney had in mind when he crafted his new setting for SATB and children’s choir. The pairing of the familiar words along with bits of “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” plus Joel’s original themes, join together for a powerful anthem.
