José Herrando (ca. 1720-1763) was one of the most famous Spanish violinists of his time. Nowadays he is well-known for his violin method and violin works, although he also composed scenic music for the public theaters in Madrid.
Herrando joined in 1760 the Royal Chapel of Madrid as violinist. Precisely in this year Herrando published his Tres dúos nuevos. It is an ambitious work in wich virtuosity is mixed with the compositional skill.
