Six Suites BWV 1007–1012

The educational value of Bach’s Suites transcribed for the bass clarinet is three-fold. I All levels of technical difficulty are covered, from the Saraband of the fifth Suite to the Prelude of the sixth.

II The musical texture of the bass clarinet matches that of the Cello. The transcription of the Solo pieces therefore presents no problem as the octave remains unchanged. III One cannot remain unmoved by Bach’s music, and it is impossible to play these works, which have had a major influence on classical music, without emotion and interest.
