The cheerful fast march Carnival Day was composed on the commission of Harima Minami High School. The wind orchestra of the commissioning school performed it for the first time.

The composer meant to write a cheerful march in traditional style, but it turned out differently. After a virtuoso "A" part in which two themes from along, a more supporting part follows.
