The Heaven Tree

The composer used the first volume of an imaginative novel trilogy by Edith Pargeter as a model for "The Heaven Tree". It takes place in the golden age of cathedral construction and reflects all the splendour and cruelty of the Middle Ages. Thierry Deleruyelle's work is the perfect equivalent of the novel. With a good sense of suspense, the composer succeeds in making past times comprehensible with his music and awakening them to new life.
