Based on the Lutheran hymn Nu komm, der Heiden Heiland, this work is a transcription of the second movement of the composer's String Sextet. The hymn tune acts as a cantus firmus most of the time as the work expands contrapuntally until there are six parts. The work is intricate and skillfully crafted to show off your group, while presenting mature music.
