We associate a title like this with Norwegian national romantic music like the music of Edvard Grieg. In this piece, the melody used ?Såg du nokke til kjerringa mi?, a traditional melody Grieg used in one of his four symphonic dances.The original version for brass band was commissioned by Manger Musikklag for the performance ?Voice of the Vikings?.
