A setting a poem by the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, 'Our Lady of Vladimir' ('To Our Lady'), inspired by the famous Russian icon, Our Lady of Vladimir by an unknown 12th-century artist. Simon Beattie was buoyed on to set the texts of this and it's partner work ('One day, God walked in') to music following a performance of his 'Advent Calendar', which sets another of Williams's poems.
