Descrizione
Für die neunsätzige Kantate "Schau, lieber Gott, wie meine Feind" BWV 153, die er in seinem ersten Amtsjahr als Thomaskantor für den Sonntag nach Neujahr 1724 komponierte, wählte Bach einen unkonventionellen Beginn. Statt von dem sonst üblichen Eingangschor wird die Kantate von einem schlichten vierstimmigen Choralsatz eröffnet. Im Zentrum (Satz 5) sowie am Ende steht ebenfalls ein Choral.
